The John Lawson Pier is one of the classic piers along the West Vancouver shoreline. I painted this on plein air while sitting on a rock on the beach, such a great day!!

Painted plein aire today at VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Every one of my painter friends painted the beautiful colour and the flowers in the gardens and I painted a local resident!! Accepted in to the Federation Gallery for the Vancouver Salon 2020 Exhibition.

This cute young girl is looking very pleased with herself! I have primed the pine boards with a tinted thick gesso. This leaves some brush marks on the board which I really enjoy working with.
