A wonderful little King Charles Spaniel whose owner is a good friend of mine.  A delight to paint!

Stearman Beach – SOLD 12 x 12, oil on panel

A favourite beach of mine.   As very small creek meanders across the beach on its way to  the ocean and kids can often be seen having a fun time changing the creek’s course.  This painting looks west, capturing the last light of the day.

Brady’s Beach Sea Stack – SOLD 10 x 10, oil on cradled panel

In West Bamfield is a special beach called Brady’s Beach.  It is named after Percy Brady who was a Coast Guard coxswain in the 1920’s.  Percy and his wife Maud were long time residents who homesteaded near the beach.  I was fortunate to have visited Brady’s Beach and sketched and took photos of the beautiful … Read More

Broken Group Islands View 10 x 10, oil on cradled panel

On the Wild Pacific Trail, in Ucluelet, is Amphitrite Point where a view of the Broken Group of Islands can be seen.  The foreground tree is a beautifully shaped and somewhat typically stunted coniferous tree.  I walked the trail this year, did some sketches and took lots of photos.  This painting is one of those … Read More

Artist Statement

As a visual artist I am always on the lookout for the light or the moment that inspires my next piece. Virtually anything could move me to capture a particular moment, for example, the way the light hits an object, the temperature of the air or a feeling in a particular location. I have always had a passion to create and my goal is to keep painting until it is time to leave. I continue to grow, improve and savour my art as passion drives me forever forward with my work.
