Elliott 6 x 6, graphite on pine board - sold

A young boy who is the happiest and the cutest for sure.   He has the very best sticky up hair ever!!   I have put the sketches in the painting/still life category because at this time I did not expect to need a portrait category or a sketch category.  I sketch all the time … Read More

Young Lady 6 x 6, graphite on pine board - sold

I started with a sketch intending to do a painting, but very quickly the sketch took on a life of its own and captured a rare glimpse of a little girl who rarely sits still.  Haha!  So I put a fixative and a sealer on the sketch and called it done.

First Narrows Sunset 8 x 10, oil on canvas

On a boat and on our way back from Indian Arm the sun was setting behind the Lions Gate Bridge.  The colours streaking across the sky and reflecting in the water caught my attention.

Artist Statement

As a visual artist I am always on the lookout for the light or the moment that inspires my next piece. Virtually anything could move me to capture a particular moment, for example, the way the light hits an object, the temperature of the air or a feeling in a particular location. I have always had a passion to create and my goal is to keep painting until it is time to leave. I continue to grow, improve and savour my art as passion drives me forever forward with my work.
