Painted plein aire when I was hiking up Whistler Mountain. I road the gondola to the top and hiked down towards Harmony Lake. And what hikes down has to hike back up, great exercise!! The view is looking across the lake towards the Seventh Heaven runs on Blackcomb Mountain.

Sunset Across the Lake
As the sunset with its light reaches across the water of the lake, the foreground trees are haloed in a subtle light.

Deep in the shadows of the river canyon a shaft of light finds its way through. The single stream of light grows bigger when it hits a small bit of river and hits a few rocks that then reflect into the water.

McIntyre Bluff can be seen from highway 97 and is located between Okanagan Falls and Oliver in British Columbia. There is a fairly well traveled hike that goes to the top of the bluff offering a panoramic view of the valley and the path of the Okangan River.

In the summer this is a favourite swimming place of mine, and others too including my dog, Fynn!! Not sure if it is my imagination but it seems the ocean warms up as the tide rises over the rocks that have been baking in the sun all day. In any event it is very enjoyable!
