One of my favourite small piece that I have done. The colour of the ocean and the reflection of the rocks and tree trunks really stand out for me!! High Tide fell off the brush so easily.

The colours on the West Coast are amazingly beautiful!! The vast coastline of British Columbia has such big skies and such variety and dimension with all the thousands of little islets.
Pacific Protectors 30 x 24, acrylic on canvas - sold
In the summer months the West Coast Sea Stacks bask in the sun and relax and reflect their shapes in the calmer waters! They are true survivors of the exciting winter storms that find their way in from the Pacific Ocean and I think the Sea Stacks enjoy the gentler summer weather.
View from Kits Beach – SOLD 8 x 10 oil on birch board
I set up on the beach with other plein air enthusiasts. The time was mid June and the sky was overcast but the air temperature was lovely with a light breeze coming off the ocean!! Pacific Statues 18 x 24, acrylic on canvas-donated to Lions Gate Hospital

Light in the Broken Group 16 x 20, acrylic on canvas - sold
There are literally a hundred or more islands in the Broken Group of Islands. In this painting the setting sun fills the sky with light and reflects in the sea while almost silhouetting the little island. The clouds were so fun to paint!! Big strokes sweep across the sky!!
Morning Light, Whyte Islet. 16 x 20, acrylic on canvas - sold
A favourite subject of mine is Whyte Islet in Whytecliff Park. It is of particular interest in the morning when the eastern side of the island is bathed in morning light. The clouds captured a thread of this light on their lower edges and their shapes add movement to the painting.
