A favourite subject of mine is Whyte Islet in Whytecliff Park. It is of particular interest in the morning when the eastern side of the island is bathed in morning light. The clouds captured a thread of this light on their lower edges and their shapes add movement to the painting.

Animal Series – SOLD
Along with angels, it was fun to paint up a bunch of animals on beach wood!! They were mostly used for Christmas Tree ornaments but some people hung them in their kid’s rooms.

I think islands are much like artists. Just as islands exist silently in their own space, artists are often in their own space, quietly letting their creative juices flow. I painted a little sketch of the same image and it appealed to me so much that I painted a larger version.
