This is a painting of Heron Lake at VanDusen Botanical Gardens. The foliage surrounding the lake changes so much throughout the year, but my favourite is the high key colours of autumn. My eye picks up on the shapes that slowly shift in the quiet water of the lake as I am drawn across the lake to the beautiful autumn hues on the lakeshore.
This piece was on display at VanDusen Botanical Gardens Library in the Plein Air Group Show, April 9/16 through June 28/16 and now resides in the Vancouver Hospice Society.
