Painted from photos I took when traveling in France. We stayed in a little tiny village called Le Barroux and we ventured on day trips from there. This particular day we had driven to Mount Ventoux and the lavender fields were near the base of the mountain. Such a lovely subject to paint.
The lilies of spring, bring to mind the start of a new growing season!! This is a vase of white Easter Lilies, (Longiflorum Hybrid). Although I enjoy all the colours of flowers, white flowers are typically my favourite. Nothing could be fresher to me than white flowers set against the green foliage!!
The French lavender fields in Provence are a magnificent sight to see!! The fields seem to go on forever and are located in the high plateau of Sault, at the base of Mount Ventoux. As the lavender sways in the light winds, it is advisable to close your eyes and breathe.
