At the end of the big government wharf in Horseshoe Bay is the little building with the red roof. In the calm waters of the bay it all reflected beautifully!
Landscape
Siwash Rock 8 x 10, oil on canvas board
This piece was painted in the morning when the sun was rising in the east casting a warm light on Stanley Park’s iconic Siwash Rock. The viewpoint was from Ambleside Beach.
Poetic Growth, study 8 x 10, oil on board
A unique and beautiful iconic tree grows happily on the shore at Caulfeild Rocks. I studied the shape of this tree for a few hours before I captured it in paint!
Contemplative Reflection 8 x 10, oil on board
As the quiet evening closes in, a little islet reflects beautifully in the surrounding water. I painted this piece from a photo I took while kayaking in the Broken Group Islands , near Ucluelet, BC.
Vancouver View 7 x 9, oil on canvas panel
I painted today at Lower Cypress Bowl, looking east towards Stanley Park and the Lions Gate Bridge. Here this is the result. The dark clouds hung low in the sky in the morning, but the day just getting brighter and in the end it was a lovely sunny day! Most enjoyable!
Fleeting Light – SOLD 11 x 14, acrylic on canvas
The colours in the sky at the end of day, as the sun sets, are truly fleeting. It takes only minutes for the beauty of the light to disappear into the night.
Bit of Heaven – SOLD 24 x 30, acrylic on canvas
The vast skies on the west coast allow for the most beautiful cloud formations. The clouds make a wonderful backdrop for the little sea stack!
Coastal Waterways 2 – SOLD 16 x20, acrylic on canvas
The inlets and islets on the west coast are numerous and create a network of waterways and safe anchorages!
Lawn Luminaries – SOLD 8 x 8, acrylic on canvas
This little piece was painted for a good friend who heads up a fundraiser for GOGOs, which is an organization that supports grandmothers in Africa raising orphaned grandchildren. My friend is an amazing person, painter and a lawn bowler! Capturing the body language of the lawn bowlers made this a fun one to paint.
This Island Rocks 8 x 10, oil on board
This sea stack acts like the punctuation of the landscape along the long vast beaches of the west coast.
