Painted at Whytcliff Park as the tide was coming in and the little Whyte Islet was becoming a true island surrounded by water. A beautiful day fading into a beautiful evening! The other islands in the scene are Passage Island on the left and the tip of Bowen Island on the right.

Having left from Port Alberni by boat, I spotted this little islet in Barkley Sound. I was on my way to the Broken Group Islands for a kayaking trip.
White Islet is located in Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver. At low tide the islet is accessible by foot, however at high tide it is surrounded by the ocean. This piece was painted plein air and finished up in the studio
