At an elevation of 7,470 feet, Opabin Lake is the main feature on the Opabin Plateau.  Recently I had the privilege of hiking in Yoho National Park and Opabin Lake was one of our destinations.  The day was a blue bird day, the views along the way were stunning and the glacial fed lake was … Read More

The stacks that that stand on the front line of our coast stand strong and exist from a place of strength.  To me, they exude a spiritual confidence.

Lesser Harmony Lake, Whistler 8 x 10, acrylic on canvas

August 2, 2019By Elizabeth AustinLandscape, Painting No Comments

Painted plein aire when I was hiking up Whistler Mountain.  I road the gondola to the top and hiked down towards Harmony Lake.  And what hikes down has to hike back up, great exercise!!  The view is looking across the lake towards the Seventh Heaven runs on Blackcomb Mountain.

Artist Statement

As a visual artist I am always on the lookout for the light or the moment that inspires my next piece. Virtually anything could move me to capture a particular moment, for example, the way the light hits an object, the temperature of the air or a feeling in a particular location. I have always had a passion to create and my goal is to keep painting until it is time to leave. I continue to grow, improve and savour my art as passion drives me forever forward with my work.
