A land mass that is naturally isolated by water due to the surrounding topography is an island. To a certain extent it becomes a unique ecological micro habitat that exists within a larger ecosystem. The small islets on the West Coast continue to intrigue me!!

Four sail boats dry docked in a line, all a bit different, yet all so similar they look like they are related!!
On a sunny day in March one can feel spring in the air. I was at the marina the other day and the dry docked power boats are waiting patiently to be put back in the water summer days on the water!!
Painted at VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Although not the focal paint of the painting, what attracted me to the scene was the background trees. The light washed out the distant trees turning them shades of turquoise and teal.
