Located on Gabriola Island, near the ferry terminal, this peaceful estuary caught my eye with the colours of the water. This piece was on display at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island.
I was fortunate to cross the Strait of Georgia and capture photos of the tiny Flat Top Islands which are located just off Gabriola Island.

With the stunning quiet light stretching across the water right towards me and I sketched this stunning sunset when I was in Newfoundland last year. The highlights on the dark rocks framed the scene beautifully!! From my sketch and a photo, I painted the piece when I got home.
