I started with a sketch intending to do a painting, but very quickly the sketch took on a life of its own and captured a rare glimpse of a little girl who rarely sits still. Haha! So I put a fixative and a sealer on the sketch and called it done.

On a boat and on our way back from Indian Arm the sun was setting behind the Lions Gate Bridge. The colours streaking across the sky and reflecting in the water caught my attention.

A lovely anchorage located just off Gabriola Island in the Gulf Islands. I have not been to Silva Bay in a long time, so I painted from a photo and took some liberties with the sky.
