As the light in Deep Cove leaves early and casts the cove into shadow, the landforms across the inlet bask in the warm light and offer a wonderful backdrop to the landforms of the Cove. Deep Cove is a wonderfully safe haven for boats.

I painted this one plein air from Kitsilano Park looking north towards the North Shore. It is a very typical Vancouver view of the freighters set against the mountains.

From Spanish Banks – SOLD 8 x 10
This one was painted plein air on a lovely day with my feet in the sand at Spanish Banks. The sail boats in the distance were a lovely white focal point set against the dark backdrop of Bowen Island, Passage Island and the North Shore.
West Coast Sentinel – SOLD 8 x 10, oil on birch board
A sea stack located at Brady’s Beach in West Bamfield. To get the beach we took a a water taxi across Bamfield Inlet, walked along the roads across the peninsula for about 20 minutes and it was well worth the effort.

A tiny islet sits happily at high tide in the Canadian landscape. The trees stand with a little character going on in their branches! A very fun one to paint!
